Job Description

We have partnered with a local landscaping company to support them in the recruitment process to find an experienced Accounting Specialist to manage the financial operations of three companies within their portfolio.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, as well as handling financial reporting and analytics. Prior experience in a similar role is essential to thrive in this fast-paced, high-volume environment.

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and confident in decision-making. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a 'get-it-done' mindset are key to success with this growing company.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Invoice customers based on completed work, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  2. Process payments (credit cards, deposits, cheques) and reconcile discrepancies.
  3. Manage Accounts Receivable, track outstanding invoices, and follow up with clients.
  4. Set up new customers in QuickBooks and maintain accurate records.
  5. Enter and pay supplier bills in QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy.
  6. Upload financial reports as required.
  7. Manage Accounts Payable, review and enter approved bills for payment.
  8. Enter receipts and expenses, ensuring proper classification.
  9. Match and reconcile all bank and credit card transactions.
  10. Investigate discrepancies and make necessary corrections.
  11. Process rent payments and match transactions.
  12. Ensure accounts and credit cards are up to date.
  13. Follow up on overdue tenant invoices and send accounts to collections if needed.
  14. Handle bounced payments and arrange payment plans.
  15. Process e-transfers for security deposit returns and QuickBooks adjustments.
  16. Set up new employees and track hours.
  17. Run payroll and process timely payments.
  18. Manage payroll remittances and file statutory forms (ROEs, T4s) to ensure compliance.
  19. Perform monthly statement reconciliations.
  20. Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
