Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic duo to manage our apartment buildings in the Stouffville Area with care and efficiency. As a live-in Property Manager and Assistant Property Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the buildings' condition, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing excellent customer service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the collection of rent on a monthly basis, ensuring timely payments and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Foster positive relationships with tenants, addressing their concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Screen applicants, show apartments, check references, and sign leases with successful candidates.
  • Organize and coordinate repairs with maintenance or contractors, ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure compliance with the Landlord Tenant Board, local regulations, and property policies.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks to uphold the buildings' condition.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and order of the buildings' common areas.
  • Handle minor repairs and oversee contractors for larger projects.
  • Keep the grounds clean and well-groomed for a pleasant living environment.
  • Be available for after-hours emergencies and respond promptly to urgent situations.
  • Maintain building security measures to ensure the safety of residents and property.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Property Manager or in building maintenance is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English is a must, and clear correspondence with tenants is a regular task.
  • Knowledge of Landlord and Tenants rights is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with tenants and contractors.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Resourcefulness and ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle unexpected challenges.
