Apartment Building Management Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable and experienced superintendent and assistant superintendent to manage our apartment buildings in the Stouffville Area. As a live-in position, you will reside in an apartment within the building complex and be responsible for maintaining the property's condition, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing excellent customer service to tenants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage rent collection and organize the process on a monthly basis
  • Foster positive relationships with tenants, addressing concerns promptly and professionally
  • Screen applicants, show apartments, and sign leases with successful candidates
  • Organize and coordinate repairs with maintenance or contractors
  • Ensure compliance with the Landlord Tenant Board, local regulations, and property policies
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks to uphold the buildings' condition
  • Maintain the cleanliness and order of the buildings' common areas
  • Handle minor repairs and oversee contractors for larger projects
  • Keep the grounds clean and well-groomed for a pleasant living environment
  • Be available for after-hours emergencies and respond promptly to urgent situations
  • Maintain building security measures to ensure the safety of residents and property
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a superintendent or in building maintenance is preferred
  • Proficiency in English is a must, and clear correspondence with tenants is expected
  • Knowledge of Landlord and Tenants rights is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with tenants and contractors
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
  • Resourcefulness and ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle unexpected challenges
