Sales Representative with Technical Expertise

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sales Representative to join our team at Doman Building Materials Group Ltd. As a key member of our sales force, you will play a critical role in delivering excellent customer service and driving sales revenue.
Job Description
The Inside Sales Representative will work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements. You will be responsible for responding to orders, communicating with internal departments, and ensuring accurate entry of credits and returns.
Responsibilities
- Sales:
- Build strong relationships with existing customers through exceptional service skills and proactive sales techniques.
- Respond accurately and efficiently to orders received by telephone, fax, or email using the company's computerized ordering system.
- Monitor EWP inventory levels and communicate upcoming customer needs to the Purchaser.
- Assist with customer inquiries regarding product availability and delivery information.
- Estimator Responsibilities:
- Review technical project documents, including plans and specifications for EWP and exterior siding.
- Prepare quotations required for these projects.
- Plan EWP cuts and coordinate the cut schedules with Operations.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Excellent customer service skills and professional telephone manner.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate customer needs.
- Minimum three years of sales experience.
- Certified Sales Professionals (CSP) designation is desirable.
- Technical Skills:
- The ability to read blueprints and experience with CAD and Planswift software are assets.
- Able to quickly learn technical information specific to the building industry.
- Working knowledge of wood frame residential construction is an asset.
Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus annual incentives based on company performance, supplementary health insurance, group pension scheme with matching employer contributions, option to purchase Doman shares at a reduced price, and various other benefits.
