About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Information Security to lead our cybersecurity efforts and protect our information technology assets from confidentiality, integrity, and availability threats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, manage, and be responsible for the protection of the Government of Manitoba's information technology assets.
  • Identify, assess, monitor, detect, investigate, research, and respond to threats and incidents impacting the security of information technology assets.
  • Operate an assigned portfolio of IT services.
  • Motivate staff through constructive and positive feedback and effective performance management.
  • Develop business cases for new services or for discontinuing existing services in response to changing business requirements.
  • Demand Management, Financial Management, and Portfolio Management of a portfolio of IT Services.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Relevant certification in Cyber Security may also be accepted.
  • Experience leading service planning and/or delivery teams.
  • Experience in vendor and contract management.
  • Experience with governance, risk management, and compliance processes.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong political acumen skills.
  • Experience in financial management.
  • Experience designing and reporting against performance measures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) considered an asset.
  • CISSP and/or CISM Certification.
