Job Title: Patient Transport Representative
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Patient Transport Representative to join our team at Trillium Health Partners. As a Patient Transport Representative, you will be responsible for transporting patients safely and efficiently to and from various locations within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport patients via bed, stretcher, or wheelchair to and from various locations, including patient units, x-ray departments, and laboratories.
- Assist patients in and out of bed, stretcher, or wheelchair, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Transport laboratory specimens from patient areas to specified laboratories.
- Transport deceased patients by following established protocols and delivering them to the mortuary.
- Maintain inventory of equipment in designated areas, including wheelchairs and stretchers.
- Transport equipment, furniture, and supplies as needed.
- Transport clean and soiled linen.
- Use chemicals and cleaning agents to maintain transport equipment.
- Strip and make up stretchers.
- Maintain open and timely communication with the Customer Support Call Centre and Leadership team via phone or in person.
Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 education and/or equivalent experience in a support services role.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, customers, and co-workers.
- Ability to read and write, and follow instructions.
- Must have the physical requirements to complete the job duties.
- Must be able to work all shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
- A positive work and attendance record is essential.
