Role Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the transport of patients using beds, stretchers, or wheelchairs to various locations within the facility.
  • Assist patients in transitioning in and out of beds, stretchers, or wheelchairs.
  • Safely transport laboratory specimens from patient areas to designated laboratories.
  • Adhere to protocols for the respectful transport of deceased patients to the mortuary.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of transport equipment within the unit.
  • Manage the transportation of equipment, furniture, and supplies as needed.
  • Ensure the delivery of clean linen and the collection of soiled linen.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning agents to uphold the cleanliness of transport equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain stretchers for patient use.
  • Communicate effectively with the Customer Support Call Centre and leadership team.
  • Undertake additional related duties as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent experience in a support services role.
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow detailed instructions.
  • Physical capability to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Flexibility to work across all shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • A consistent and positive attendance record is crucial.
