Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Archaeology Field Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our archaeological team, you will be responsible for conducting fieldwork, identifying and recovering artifacts, and prioritizing health and safety protocols.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects, develop your skills, and contribute to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting fieldwork under the guidance of a field supervisor
  • Identifying and recovering Indigenous and Euro-Canadian artifacts
  • Prioritizing health and safety protocols and adhering to AECOM procedures
  • Traveling extensively across Ontario for extended periods
  • Assisting the field supervisor with technical aspects of fieldwork
  • Contributing to the training of new team members
Qualifications
  • High school diploma and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to perform strenuous fieldwork, including lifting up to 40lbs and repetitive movement
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable transportation to and from assigned office or project meet spot
  • Sensitivity and awareness of Indigenous culture and people
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in archaeology or anthropology
  • Proven ability to recognize cultural material and collect in a controlled manner
  • Proven physical ability and care when conducting excavations
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Valid Ontario driver's license
