Archaeological Field Technician

AECOM is seeking skilled professionals to fill the role of Archaeology Field Technician I in our London, Ontario office.
This position involves participating in archaeological assessments, including Stage 2-4 assessments as described by Ontario's Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism. The successful candidate will be responsible for hand digging archaeological test units, screening dirt for artifacts, and participating in pedestrian survey work.
This is a labor-intensive role that requires working in various weather conditions, lifting up to 40lbs, and performing repetitive movements. Reliable transportation to and from the assigned office or project meet spot is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in archaeological assessments, including Stage 2-4 assessments
- Hand dig archaeological test units and screen dirt for artifacts
- Participate in pedestrian survey work
- Work in various weather conditions, lifting up to 40lbs, and performing repetitive movements
- Reliable transportation to and from the assigned office or project meet spot
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Sensitivity and awareness of Indigenous culture and people
- Competitive hourly rate of $23.77
