Job Description

BQ International Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Transformation Architect to join our team. As a key member of our Enterprise Architecture department, you will be responsible for driving the company's cloud transformation strategy and ensuring the successful migration of our systems to the cloud.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Cloud Strategy: Create a comprehensive cloud strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and ensures the secure, stable, and cost-effective operation of our cloud infrastructure.
  2. Lead Cloud Migration Efforts: Oversee the migration of our systems to the cloud, including the creation of strategy, roadmaps, vision statements, business cases, solution contexts, and setting principles and standards for a secure, stable, fault-tolerant, cost-effective cloud computing environment.
  3. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with business owners, Lean Portfolio Management, and other stakeholders to manage the enterprise portfolio, business epics, and technology enablers, linking how change opportunities bring the corporation closer to the five-year ambition.
  4. Provide Technical Guidance: Provide direction to individual client work units on what are acceptable tactical objectives and plans how to move from tactical to the strategic architectural objectives.
  5. Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Monitor and adopt technology innovations into the corporation's technical footprint.
Requirements
  1. Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
  2. Experience: 10+ years of experience in information technology covering a wide range of technologies and disciplines, including:
    1. Five years as an architect.
    2. Three years as a lead architect.
  3. Cloud Experience: Experience successfully migrating a corporation from a data centre/on-premise deployment model to the cloud, including:
    1. Creation of strategy, roadmaps, vision statements, business cases, solution contexts, and setting principles and standards for a secure, stable, fault-tolerant, cost-effective cloud computing environment.
    2. Participation in and leadership of migration efforts as part of delivery programs that migrated compute power from on-premise to the cloud.
  4. Technical Skills: Experience with the Azure cloud platform is a must. Experience with Google and Amazon cloud platforms is an asset. Experience with Kubernetes is an asset.
  5. Architectural Knowledge: Good understanding of the architectural principles of cloud-based platforms including SaaS, PaaS, multitenancy, and multi-tiered infrastructure.
  6. Security Knowledge: Good understanding of the security processes, standards, and issues involved in multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications.
  7. Enterprise Application Integration: Good understanding of enterprise application integration technologies as well as common ECA topics such as persona-based journeys, process orchestration, master data management, analytics and insights, artificial intelligence, etc.
  8. Architectural Frameworks: Experience with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, etc.
  9. SAFe Architect Certification: SAFe Architect Certification is an asset.
