Journeyman Expertise

As a certified Journeyman Automotive Service Technician, you've reached the pinnacle of your craft. This position requires fluency in written and spoken English.

Job Responsibilities

As an Automotive Service Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Professionally servicing and/or repairing vehicles as assigned by dealership representatives.
  2. Adjusting, repairing or replacing parts and components of automotive diesel and electrical systems.
  3. Testing and adjusting repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications.
  4. Road testing vehicles for diagnostic and quality control purposes.
  5. Supplying and maintaining an inventory of standard and specialized automotive technician tools required to perform all services and repairs.
  6. Maintaining designated work area (bay) and shared work area (operation and cleanliness) in accordance with service management guidelines.
  7. Disposing of fluids and chemicals and metal safely in accordance with established dealership, Provincial and Federal Environmental guidelines.
  8. Understanding manufacture and aftermarket warranty processes.
  9. Recommending any maintenance type services due according to the dealerships' maintenance schedule.
  10. Providing the Service Advisor with an accurate labour quote and completion time estimate for any additional repairs or maintenance work recommendations.
  11. Obtaining authorization from the Service Advisor to perform additional sold repairs or maintenance.
  12. Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins.
  13. Documenting completed services and repairs by making appropriate notes.
  14. Performing a visual quality control (QC) inspection on all vehicles after work completion.
