Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to join our team at Michael Page International Canada Limited. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll and benefits for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Management
    • Process payroll for both hourly and salaried employees, including office staff
    • Review timecards for errors and omissions, including schedule changes
    • Manage employee exceptions, including vacation pay, garnishments, deductions, and other adjustments
    • Prepare weekly payroll reports for management
  • Benefits Administration
    • Manage employee benefits, including health and dental plans
    • Coordinate benefits enrollment and changes
    • Ensure compliance with benefits regulations
  • Employee Services
    • Provide support and guidance to employees on payroll and benefits-related matters
    • Answer and resolve payroll-related inquiries
    • Maintain electronic archives of active and inactive employee files
  • Compliance and Reporting
    • Prepare and submit ROE's (Records of Employment)
    • Annual T4 reconciliation and issuance
    • Quarterly Employee Health Tax (EHT) reconciliation and submission
    • Monthly WSIB billing and annual reconciliation
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Share payroll reports with management, including hours, total payroll, and insights
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure payroll and benefits align with business objectives
Requirements
  • Education
    • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or Accounting
  • Experience
    • 3-5 years of experience in payroll and/or HR in a manufacturing setting
  • Skills
    • ADP Workforce Now Payroll system experience
    • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite products
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and activities in a fast-paced environment
