About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Event Manager to join our offsite catering team at Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants. As a Senior Event Manager, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our catering department, including staffing, cost controls, staff training, budgeting, and active floor management during events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the catering department, including staffing, cost controls, staff training, budgeting, and active floor management during events.
  • Enthusiastically communicate the vision to all team members and lead by example, reinforcing the O&B values daily and inspiring the team with an exciting vision for the future.
  • Regularly monitor and achieve the O&B points of technical service and points of detail.
  • Build and maintain relationships with guests, team members, and management alike.
  • Follow bar, beverage, and wine control procedures accurately.
  • Show leadership in creating a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoyment of food, beverage, and service.
  • Demonstrate high personal integrity, business ethics, and take every opportunity to promote O&B Catering.
  • Conduct recruitment and selection, training and development initiatives, performance management, and employee coaching.
  • Use conflict/resolution and problem-solving skills and inspire others to do the same.
  • Schedule event staff to properly service events/functions.
  • Evaluate accuracy and timeliness of payroll records.
  • Pursue maximum efficiency and continual improvement of staff productivity.
  • Participate on Health & Safety Committee, ensuring that the Occupational Health & Safety Act and WSIB procedures are being followed.
  • Develop relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Demonstrate savvy business acumen and report to the Director with accurate invoicing, payroll, employee records, and inventory management.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in Business or Hospitality.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience managing various events and offsite catering, inclusive of small, large, and high-profile functions.
  • WSET Intermediate Wine Certificate or comparable is an asset.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large and variable workload, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned work.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Tripleseat is considered an asset.
  • Strong business acumen.
