Bridge Inspection Lead

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and conduct inspections of existing bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Complete daily health and safety documentation and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Work flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekends, and be away from home for periods of time.
- Conduct structure deterioration mapping and provide recommendations for maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation.
- Keep accurate daily records and input data into a database.
- Use various hand tools and care for rental vehicles.
- Attend team progress meetings and utilize AutoCAD and Civil3D to prepare structural drawings when required.
- Familiarize yourself with Bridge Management software and input inspection data.
- Work within assigned projects and schedules.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil Technology/Technician engineering with a strong interest and experience in Bridge Engineering.
- OACETT designation or eligibility.
- P.Eng. would be an asset.
- 4+ years of experience leading biennial inspections.
- Attended the MTO 2021 Inspectors workshop.
- Valid Ontario driver's license.
- Ability to perform outdoor physical duties while doing bridge inspection work.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Positive attitude, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Able to work in a team environment and excel in bridge inspection projects.
- Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
