About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Specialist to join our team at The Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all sourcing, inventory management, expediting, warehousing, and distribution of goods and services for assigned government projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Manage inventory levels and optimize storage and distribution processes to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate prices, terms, and conditions that meet our business needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including project managers, procurement teams, and suppliers.
  • Provide excellent customer service to project stakeholders and clients, ensuring timely and effective communication and issue resolution.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require a post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce, or Supply Chain, and a minimum of 5 years of progressive supply chain experience. A professional designation/certificate in the supply chain field is considered an asset.

You will also possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
