About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Specialist to join our team at the Province of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all sourcing, inventory management, expediting, warehousing, and distribution of goods and services for assigned government projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective supply chain strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking of materials.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity and minimizing disruptions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to project stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective communication and issue resolution.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce, or Supply Chain.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive supply chain experience, preferably with a well-rounded knowledge of scheduling, planning, procurement, inventory, and disposal functions.
  • Professional designation/certificate in the supply chain field, such as CSCMP, SCMP, NISCL, SMT, P.Log, CCLP, or PSPP.
  • Frequent travel across the province, requiring a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
