About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Specialist to join our team at The Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all sourcing, inventory management, expediting, warehousing, and distribution of various goods and services for assigned government projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective supply chain strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and storing of goods.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and resolve supply chain issues and optimize processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services.
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce, or Supply Chain.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive supply chain experience, preferably with a well-rounded knowledge of scheduling, planning, procurement, inventory, and disposal functions.
  • Professional designation/certificate in the supply chain field, such as CSCMP, SCMP, NISCL, SMT, P.Log, CCLP, or PSPP.
  • Frequent travel across the province required.
