Job Title: Educational Program Assistant

Shatford Memorial Elementary is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Educational Program Assistant will provide support to students with special needs, working collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as toileting and personal care
  • Support students with medical procedures, as trained
  • Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
  • Assist with classroom activities and lessons
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
Requirements:
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification
Assets:
  • Experience working with students with autism
  • Related diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution

Rate of Pay:

The starting annual salary for a 100% position is $35,817.70, including 4% vacation pay. Rates are based on a five-step scale with step increases occurring annually.

Daily Hours of Work:

50% Position: 3.5 hours (includes one 15-minute paid break)

80% Position: 6.1 hours (includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks)

100% Position: 7.5 hours (includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks)
