About this Job

This role is a critical part of our engineering team, providing support to the department head in managing budget, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the management of property operations, including supervising the distribution of repair work orders and ensuring property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
  2. Help plan, schedule, and evaluate preventative maintenance programs, and establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees.
  3. Monitor the timeliness and quality of completion of repair work orders, and supervise engineering and related areas in the absence of the director of engineering.
  4. Assist in managing the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and life safety systems.
  5. Ensure regular on-going communication with employees to create awareness of business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performance.
  6. Recommend or arrange for additional services, select and order or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings, and supervise the day-to-day operations of engineering and related departments.
  7. Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required, maintain accurate logs and records, and operate generators and fire pumps as necessary.
  8. Provide emergency response services 24/7, repair equipment as necessary, and ensure all employees have the proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
  9. Empower employees to provide excellent customer service, emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings, and focus on continuous improvement.
  10. Help train employees in safety procedures, support a departmental orientation program, communicate performance expectations, and ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to SOPs and LSOPs.
  11. Assist in the interviewing and hiring of employee team members, participate in the employee performance appraisal process, and solicit employee feedback.
What You'll Need
  • A high school diploma or GED, or a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or a related major.
  • 4 years of experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area, or 2 years of experience with technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
