Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Communications and Engagement Specialist to join our team at Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC). This role will play a central part in designing and executing a communications strategy to engage Canadians in international development, mobilize existing supporters, and reach new audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective communications strategies to advance AKFC's engagement and mobilization of audiences in Canada.
  • Support the creation of high-quality, engaging content for various digital and in-person channels, including social media campaigns, traveling exhibitions, and learning events.
  • Analyze data and adjust approaches to ensure optimal results from organizational communications.
  • Maintain and improve internal communications to keep staff and volunteers informed about AKFC's activities in Canada.
Requirements
  • A post-secondary degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field, with at least five years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated audience-driven approach to communications strategy.
  • Excellent copyediting and proofreading skills, with high standards for accuracy and quality.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with French language skills considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, think critically, and work collaboratively.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary range of $78,000 - $83,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
