Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapy department at Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialized care to critically ill patients in various units, including ICU, CCU, and Regional Burn Unit.
Responsibilities- Provide respiratory care to adult patients in critical care settings, including mechanical ventilation, airway management, and oxygen therapy.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Conduct ECG interpretations, pressure monitoring, and other diagnostic procedures as needed.
- Participate in Code Blue and RACE team activations.
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen concentrators.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of respiratory care, support, and critical care management of adult critical care patients.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
- Current General Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO).
- Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam.
- Valid BCLS and ACLS certifications.
- Recent 2 years experience in an adult critical care setting.
- Recent RACE experience preferred.
- Recent hyperbaric experience and/or training preferred.
