Job Title: Education Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Assistant to join our team at St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Secondary. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs, providing academic and functional skills support, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students on your caseload, providing functional skills, academic support, and social skills.
  • Work one-on-one with diagnosed students, providing tailored support and accommodations.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to support student learning and behavior.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of student-centered plans.
Requirements:
  • Eligibility for a current British Columbia Criminal Record Check.
  • Training and experience in special education, with a focus on working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Background knowledge and experience working with a variety of students with special needs.
