About the Role:The Department of Social Development and Seniors is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Protection Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our child protection team, you will be responsible for investigating and assessing child protection reports, providing support and services to families, and working collaboratively with community partners to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough investigations and assessments of child protection reports to determine the level of risk and need for intervention.
- Provide support and services to families, including home visits, counseling, and case management.
- Collaborate with community partners, including police, healthcare providers, and other social services agencies, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to child protection concerns.
- Develop and implement case plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children, and provide ongoing support and monitoring to families.
- Provide education and training to families and community members on child protection and family support topics.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay up-to-date on best practices and policies related to child protection and family support.
- Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in child protection or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
