Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at The University of British Columbia. The successful candidate will work in the Lees Lab, a dynamic and collaborative research environment focused on developing electrochemical technologies to address critical climate challenges.
Job Summary:The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be responsible for conducting research and development of sophisticated continuum models for electrochemical CO2 capture and conversion. The Fellow will work closely with our industrial partner, Sora Fuel Corp., to model a novel reactor that electrochemically converts carbon capture solutions into carbon monoxide. The goal of this project is to identify optimum materials, reactor architectures, and operating conditions to inform experiments.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement electrochemical models for CO2 capture and conversion
- Collaborate with the Lees Lab team and Sora Fuel Corp. to design and optimize the reactor
- Lead and coordinate bi-weekly meetings with Sora Fuel Corp. to communicate modelling results and direct future research activities
- Mentor PhD and Master's students in the Lees Lab
- PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related field, obtained within the last 5 years
- Experience in experimental or computational electrochemistry
- A strong record of research productivity commensurate with the experience of the candidate
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
