Job Category Faculty Non Bargaining Job Title Postdoctoral Research Fellow Department Assistant Professor (tenure-track) | Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering | Faculty of Applied Science Job Description The Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering at the University of British Columbia invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow position. The successful candidate will work in the Lees Lab, a team of dedicated researchers focused on using electrochemical engineering theory to bring climate solutions from laboratory to market. Key Responsibilities • Conduct research and development of sophisticated continuum models for electrochemical CO2 capture and conversion • Work closely with the Lees Lab's industrial partner to model a novel reactor that electrochemically converts carbon capture solutions into carbon monoxide • Lead and coordinate bi-weekly meetings with the industrial partner to communicate modelling results, acquire experimental data, and direct future research activities • Mentor PhD and Master's students in the Lees Lab Qualifications • PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related field • Experience in experimental or computational electrochemistry • Strong record of research productivity • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles About the Lees Lab The Lees Lab is a team of dedicated researchers focused on using electrochemical engineering theory to bring climate solutions from laboratory to market.
