Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Fellow Position

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill a two-year full-time Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Fellow position. The successful candidate will play a leading role in the design, implementation, and assessment of a transformational pedagogical strategy for Engineering curricula.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop EDII and sustainability modules for existing courses.
- Review and redesign pedagogy and content for two large-scale Professional Practice courses in engineering.
- Conduct literature reviews on EDII and sustainability teaching and assessment in engineering to determine leading-edge practices.
- Design rigorous evaluation strategies for EDII and sustainability learning in engineering.
- Oversee data collection and analysis to evaluate developed content and pedagogies.
- Organize and analyze qualitative and quantitative data using software tools.
- Write literature for publication in engineering education-related conferences, journals, and/or workshops.
- Attend and present at conferences related to engineering education.
- A PhD in any engineering discipline (including engineering education), completed within the last 5 years.
- Experience teaching in a post-secondary context (e.g., as instructor or teaching assistant).
- Knowledge of and commitment to EDI, indigeneity/decolonization, and sustainability, preferably in an engineering context.
- Interest in a career path in post-secondary teaching and learning within engineering.
- Experience developing curricular content.
- Experience creating and applying innovative pedagogies.
- Knowledge of supporting literature in the areas of interest.
