Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Numerical Simulations

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral research fellow to join our team at the Industrial and Biological Multiphysics Laboratory at the University of British Columbia. The successful candidate will work on a newly industrial-funded 1-year postdoctoral research project, focusing on studying complex fluids and their applications using numerical simulations and experimental methods.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate the material properties of Sodium hyaluronic acid-based products to understand their processing.
- Develop models that mimic gel mixing rheology and solve them using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
- Compare numerical results with lab experimental data for model validation.
- Guide process developments, support manufacturing robustness, and develop process optimization.
- Ph.D. degree in an appropriate discipline (material engineering, material science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering).
- Strong background in programming and mathematical modeling.
- Experience in computational rheology is desirable.
- Experience working with hyaluronic acid (HA) or HA-based products is desirable.
- Experience working with crosslinking modeling is desirable.
- Background in applied/numerical mathematics is desirable.
