Retail Store Supervisor Job Description

At Days Inn Liquor Store, we are seeking a highly skilled Retail Store Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our store, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our merchandise is presented in an attractive and appealing manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign sales workers to duties and ensure that they are adequately trained to provide excellent customer service.
  • Hire and train new staff members, or arrange for their training, to ensure that they are equipped to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Authorize payments by cheque and ensure that all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Order merchandise and ensure that it is received and stored in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Authorize the return of merchandise and ensure that all returns are processed in accordance with our store's policies.
  • Establish work schedules and ensure that all staff members are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Sell merchandise and provide exceptional customer service to our customers.
  • Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters, and present them to management.
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer complaints and supply shortages, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring that all merchandise is accurately stocked and displayed.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of workers, providing guidance and support as needed.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

Working Conditions:

  • Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Handling heavy loads and standing for long periods.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.

  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a retail environment.
