Job Summary
VCA Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced DVM to fill the role of Medical Director at our London Regional Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing medical direction and oversight to our emergency veterinary team, ensuring the highest level of patient care and exceptional client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical direction and oversight to the emergency veterinary team, ensuring compliance with veterinary medical protocols and standards.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategies to improve patient care, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in veterinary medicine and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with veterinary staff, clients, and other stakeholders to promote a positive and supportive work environment.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in veterinary medicine and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of post-graduate experience working as an emergency veterinarian in an active hospital.
- Experience leading a team of veterinary professionals and addressing changes and/or improvements to medical protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Coaching and mentoring capabilities, with a focus on developing the skills and knowledge of veterinary staff.
