Job Summary

VCA Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced DVM to fill the role of Medical Director at our London Regional Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing medical direction and oversight to our emergency veterinary team, ensuring the highest level of patient care and exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical direction and oversight to the emergency veterinary team, ensuring compliance with veterinary medical protocols and standards.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategies to improve patient care, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in veterinary medicine and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with veterinary staff, clients, and other stakeholders to promote a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in veterinary medicine and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of post-graduate experience working as an emergency veterinarian in an active hospital.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of success in leading teams and driving results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with veterinary staff, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a passion for staying current with the latest advances in veterinary medicine.
