Salary:

The salary range for this position is approximately $143,875 – $192,536 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Certified members of the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine can expect a salary within this range, while Fellows may anticipate a higher salary of $166,474 – $222,780.

 

Job Description:

This role involves supporting clinical services, quality assurance, commissioning, and development of new techniques and protocols in Diagnostic Imaging. As a Medical Physicist, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality, safe, and efficient imaging services through quality assurance, quality control, and acceptance testing for imaging equipment. You will also provide leadership and direction in the radiation protection program.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clinical services, quality assurance, commissioning, and development of new techniques and protocols
  • Ensure high standards for DI imaging policies, processes, procedures, and systems for service delivery to patients
  • Lead the radiation protection program
  • Participate in academic endeavors, including research, teaching, and publication

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in imaging and clinical physics aspects of Nuclear Medicine and/or Positron Emission Tomography is required. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are essential, as well as a demonstrated commitment to high clinical standards.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification by the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine or other related equivalencies is preferred. Specialization in Nuclear Medicine and Positron Emission Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and/or Mammography is an asset.
