A reputable and growing organization, our client is seeking an experienced Financial Operations Lead to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity for a skilled individual to lead key financial operations and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial processes.

Job Summary:

The Financial Operations Lead will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. This position is responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, managing a team of accounting professionals, and implementing process improvements. The ideal candidate is a proactive, results-driven leader with strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial statements with Canadian accounting standards.
  • Develop and enforce effective accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports to support the company's strategic goals.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of accounting staff.
  • Coordinate audit activities, liaising with external auditors as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insights on financial trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation required.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Thorough understanding of Canadian GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
