Job Overview:
CQ Search Group Ltd. is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Construction Controller to oversee and manage the company's financial operations in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role:
This role will involve supervising the accounting team, managing full-cycle accounting processes, ensuring timely payroll and compliance with T4 and T5 reporting, and actively contributing to budgeting and forecasting.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all financial tasks and reports.
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting including general ledger, financial statements, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, including T4 and T5 filings, as well as other statutory reports.
  • Manage and reconcile Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow statements, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations.
  • Develop and manage budgets and forecasts, providing regular analysis to senior management.
  • Supervise the preparation of financial reports and ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including overseeing tax returns and financial audits.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, offering insights and recommendations for operational improvements.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a controller or senior accountant, with significant exposure to construction accounting.
  • Proven experience managing a full cycle of accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll, T4/T5 filing, and related compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cash flow management, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
  • Previous experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing accounting teams.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with other departments.

Salary:
The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 per year.
