Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Instructional Specialist for Diverse Student Needs to join our team. This role requires a passionate educator with the ability to provide causal or substitute coverage in various subjects ranging from K-12. As a member of our interdisciplinary teaching team, you will work closely with students, families, and community professionals to provide holistic, culturally focused education.

Estimated Salary:

$85,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
  1. Instruct and deliver curriculum in keeping with the BC Ministry of Education Integrated.
  2. Pursue a variety of methodologies in teaching and instructing students, including lectures, demonstrations, and discussions.
  3. Develop a lesson plan and curriculum preparation, including year plan preparation.
  4. Undertake effective classroom management strategies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education
  • Current practicing British Columbia (BC) Certified Teacher qualifications
  • Solid knowledge of and demonstrated ability in addressing a wide range of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of children of intermediate ages.
  • Ability to adhere to Oath of Confidentiality and Seabird Island Band Policies and Procedure.
  • Knowledge and respect of Stó:lō culture, traditions, and language is considered an asset.
