The TEEMA Group is seeking a skilled Visual Impairment Specialist to join our team.

Estimated salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

This role involves working closely with teachers and certificated staff to support visually impaired students in achieving their academic, social, and personal potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing instructional programs designed by certificated staff
  • Instructing students in various subjects, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs
  • Compiling, reviewing, and recording student assignments and progress
  • Providing consistent follow-through activities with visually impaired students
  • Instructing students in self-care activities, reinforcing daily living skills and social skills
  • Using adaptive technology aids to support academic activities
  • Adapting classroom materials to meet the needs of visually impaired students
  • Maintaining effective communication with school and program staff
  • Assisting students with mobility and transportation needs
Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of methods for working with visually impaired students
  • Competency in Braille instruction
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential matters
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant education, experience, and training
