About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our interprofessional team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare providers to provide patient-centered care that optimizes safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy.

Under the supervision of the Manager of Primary Health Care, you will be responsible for working with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve drug-related problems, complete medication reconciliation, participate in interprofessional medical rounds, provide patient education, and make therapeutic recommendations to the team.

You will also be responsible for ensuring safe and effective drug therapy by participating in and overseeing drug distribution systems (inpatient and outpatient) and contributing to the effective and efficient attainment of the goals and objectives of Nova Scotia Health Pharmacy Services.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited university program in Pharmacy
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program preferred
  • Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
  • Minimum two years' experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The hourly rate is $53.24.
