As a Data Linguist Specialist with TCWGlobal, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the company's search vocabulary to ensure efficient and accurate results for global customers.

About the Role

This is a fully remote position with a competitive salary range of $34-$38 CAD per hour and a potential for conversion.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a linguist applying NLP methodologies in academic or IT industry positions, with metadata management experience and a basic understanding of online search systems and keywording standards.

We are looking for a highly articulate communicator who can work successfully within a global team, collaborating regularly with remote team members to achieve common goals.

A self-motivated, highly organized, and creative individual with significant computer proficiency and an aptitude for mastering software systems will thrive in this role.

The successful candidate will possess a MA or higher degree in a Linguistic field, preferably with a Ph.D.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and maintain the company's search vocabulary to meet the needs of global customers.
  • Facilitate search for assets on company image websites by ensuring controlled vocabulary meets customer needs.
  • Manage translation of controlled vocabulary in supported languages, selecting material, shipping to third-party vendors as needed, and QA of third-party translations.
  • Utilize workflows and technologies such as NLP methodologies/techniques, knowledge graph connections, and SQL queries to guarantee accuracy and quality of vocabulary work.

The Data Linguist Specialist will also be responsible for developing and optimizing new approaches and processes for Search Vocabulary localization, creating documentation on projects, conducting research and analysis to identify customer trends, and generating search engine and/or vocabulary ideas for implementation.
