Overview

TCWGlobal is a leading company specializing in creating global visual content for customers worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Computational Linguist to develop, manage, and maintain our search vocabulary, promoting workflows and technologies to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and provide industry-leading search for global customers.

Job Description

This role works closely with the Global Vocabulary Manager, the Global Search Vocabulary Analyst, Search Editors, and the Data Science team to ensure consistent vocabulary development and processes across all languages. The successful candidate will facilitate search for assets on our image websites, ensuring the controlled vocabulary meets the needs of global customers for all products and web sites in target markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the translation of the controlled vocabulary in supported languages, including selection, shipment to third-party providers as needed, and QA of third-party translation.
  • Utilize NLP methodologies, knowledge graph connections, and SQL queries to guarantee accuracy and quality of vocabulary work.
  • Develop and optimize new approaches and processes for search vocabulary localization, aiming for high efficiency while maintaining established industry standards.
  • Create documentation on projects and POC proposals combining new technologies for search vocabulary localization and utilization.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify customer trends and generate search engine and/or vocabulary ideas for implementation.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly articulate communicator with significant computer proficiency and an aptitude for mastering software systems. Experience as a linguist applying NLP methodologies in academic or IT positions is required, along with metadata management experience and a basic understanding of online search systems and keywording standards.

Familiarity with controlled vocabulary management principles and their application within a commercial environment is also essential. A self-motivated, highly organized, creative individual with excellent communication skills and attention to detail is ideal for this role.
