Job Title:

Business Instructor

Job Summary:

The Business Instructor at Yellowquill University College is responsible for delivering instruction in the Business Certificate Program. The successful candidate will provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students, while also contributing to the development of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver instruction in assigned classes, using a variety of teaching methods to engage students.
  • Prepare course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments, in accordance with adult education principles and college standards.
  • Assist students with registering for classes and provide advice on course selections.
  • Provide academic and career counseling to students as needed.
  • Develop course descriptions that include general and specific objectives, course topics, goals, rationale, evaluation methods, texts and references used, methods of delivery, course name, course number, and course hours.
  • Submit attendance reports, mid-term and final marks, and other reports as necessary to the Director of YQUC.
  • Recommend texts, resources, and reference materials for classes taught, and assist with ordering.
  • Maintain an inventory of instructional materials and equipment for each class taught.
  • Assist with promoting the college at career events and provide information on college programs.
  • Attend all YC staff meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of YQUC.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education Degree and/or Adult Education Certificate.
  • Previous business teaching experience and working with Aboriginal adults is preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Teams).
  • Completion of a Criminal Record Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle.
