Strategic Communications Specialist: Corporate Responsibility

Your Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that supports North West Company's goals and objectives, focusing on sustainability efforts, community engagement, and social impact programs.
  2. Manage internal and external communications related to corporate responsibility, including media relations, reporting on sustainability efforts, community engagement, and social impact programs.
  3. Craft compelling messaging and content for various communication channels, such as press releases, websites, social media, and corporate responsibility reports.
  4. Provide strategic communications counsel and support to senior management, including assistance with drafting announcements, memos, and speaking notes.
  5. E nsure consistent messaging across all communication channels and platforms.
  6. Oversee the development and production of communication materials, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and alignment with corporate responsibility objectives.
  7. Manage internal communication channels, such as newsletters, intranet, and email communications, to keep employees informed and engaged with corporate responsibility initiatives.
  8. Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives related to corporate responsibility, including events, volunteer programs, town halls, and sustainability awareness campaigns.
Key Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive communications strategies in a corporate or organizational setting.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in managing both internal and external communications, including media relations and employee communications.
  4. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide insightful counsel to senior management.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and proficiency in crafting compelling messaging.
  6. Experience in content development and production across various platforms, including digital and traditional media.
  7. Proficiency in managing communication channels and tools, with a focus on maintaining consistency and maximizing reach.
  8. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  9. Experience in organizing and facilitating communication sessions and events, with a focus on engaging and informing diverse audiences.
  10. Familiarity with corporate website management, SharePoint, and social media platforms.
  11. Knowledge of corporate responsibility and sustainability reporting practices.
Location and Salary:

Gibraltar House, Winnipeg, MB

A competitive salary of approximately $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, is being offered along with opportunities to learn, develop, and advance throughout the organization.
