Field Engineer/Geoscientist Position

Parsons is seeking a talented Field Engineer/Geoscientist to support our team in Yellowknife, NT.

The Giant Mine Remediation Project is a world-class remediation project utilizing innovative methods to deliver a safe environment. The project is expected to last over 10 years and is located just outside the City of Yellowknife, NWT.

Candidates must be local or willing to relocate to Yellowknife, NT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect the works of contractors by monitoring their performance to meet the specification and contract requirements.
  • Support and ensure Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards are followed at site by subcontractors in accordance with EHS program.
  • Oversee and perform site inspections and enforcement of standards.
  • Oversee Quality Control/Quality Assurance of work being performed by contractors.
  • Support Project Managers and Engineers in the delivery of the construction scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality of work packages delivered by sub-contractors.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in a related field.
  • Work experience in heavy civil, northern mining or remediation projects will be an asset.
  • Ability to understand design specifications, quality plans and performing quality assurance functions.
  • Ability to oversee activities of multiple contractors.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to monitor and maintain contractor adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Ability to operate self-sufficiently in field environments.
  • Valid Canadian driver's license.
