Job Title: Field Engineer/Geologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer/Geologist to join our team in Yellowknife, NT. As a key member of our Critical Infrastructure team, you will play a crucial role in the Giant Mine Remediation Project.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Inspect and oversee construction and remediation activities to ensure compliance with specifications and contract requirements.
  2. Support and ensure Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards are followed at site by subcontractors.
  3. Perform site inspections and enforce standards to ensure quality control and quality assurance.
  4. Coordinate testing requirements with contractors and third-party independent testing agents.
  5. Support Project Managers and Engineers in delivering construction scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality of work packages.
  6. Monitor and verify progress and performance of subcontractor activities.
  7. Review contractor daily reports and verify.
  8. Review daily and weekly plans to monitor adherence to plans.
  9. Assist Project Managers and Engineers with quality control assessments and quality reports.
  10. Support resolving issues related to cost, schedule, or quality variance by working with contractors to develop and implement corrective actions.
Requirements:
  1. Diploma or degree in a related field. Work experience in heavy civil, northern mining, or remediation projects is an asset.
  2. Ability to understand design specifications, quality plans, and perform quality assurance functions.
  3. Ability to oversee activities of multiple contractors.
  4. Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to monitor and maintain contractor adherence to specifications and standards.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Ability to operate self-sufficiently in field environments.
  7. Proven ability to prepare reports and documentation.
  8. Valid Canadian driver's license.
  9. Willingness to live in Yellowknife, NWT.

This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team and does not require minimum clearance to start.
