About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geoscientist/Field Operations Specialist to join our team at Parsons Corporation. This exciting opportunity is part of our Critical Infrastructure team and offers a unique chance to work on world-class remediation projects.

About the Job:

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of construction and remediation activities at Giant Mine. You will inspect and monitor the performance of contractors to ensure they meet specifications and contract requirements. Additionally, you will support and enforce Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards, perform safety audits and inspections, and oversee Quality Control/Quality Assurance of work performed by contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect works of contractors to monitor performance and adherence to specifications and contract requirements;
  • Support and enforce EHS standards and conduct safety audits and inspections;
  • Oversight of site inspections and enforcement of standards;
  • Oversee Quality Control/Quality Assurance of work performed by contractors;
  • Assist Project Managers and Engineers in delivery of construction scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality of work packages delivered by sub-contractors;
  • Monitor, verify, and generate daily reports on progress and performance of subcontractor activities;
  • Review contractor daily reports and verify;
  • Review daily and weekly plans, perform site inspections to monitor and assure adherence to plans;
  • Assist Project Managers and Engineers with quality control assessments and quality reports;
  • Support resolution of issues related to cost, schedule, or quality variances by working with contractors to develop and implement corrective actions;

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Diploma or degree in a related field, or significant experience in lieu of diploma or degree;
  • Ability to understand design specifications, quality plans, and perform quality assurance functions;
  • Ability to oversee activities of multiple contractors;
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to monitor and maintain contractor adherence to specifications and standards;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Ability to operate self-sufficiently in field environments;
  • Proven ability to prepare reports and documentation;
  • Valid Canadian driver's license;
  • Willingness to live in Yellowknife, NWT;

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
