About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Planning Strategist, Corporate Tax Expert to join our team in Corporate Tax. As a key member of our tax team, you will be responsible for income tax reporting, short- and long-term tax planning, and tax modeling, as well as tax compliance and corporate tax accounting.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in preparing and reviewing complex tax provisions in a US GAAP environment. You will also be responsible for supporting the Director, Tax with tax due diligence, tax modeling, and tax structuring advice, as well as managing external advisors as needed.

About the Salary

We offer a highly competitive salary of $**$120,000-$180,000 per year**, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including a share purchase/match plan, defined contribution savings plan, Leadership Development Program, volunteer paid days off, Employee Assistance Program, achievement fund, Group Benefit Plan, variety of Health & Wellness programs, and Discount and Perks program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support preparation and review of U.S. GAAP quarterly and annual income tax provisions and effective tax rate reconciliations for the Consolidated group
  • Support preparation and review of both Canadian and certain U.S. income tax and information returns, including T1134, CbCR, GMT & EIFFEL requirements
  • Support Director, Tax with tax due diligence, tax modeling, and tax structuring advice
  • Manage Canadian income tax audits, prepare and review responses to queries, and review assessments
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in preparing and reviewing complex tax provisions in a US GAAP environment
  • Prior experience with M&A related tax structuring
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A professional Accounting designation (CPA, CA) preferred
