Tax Manager Role

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team at Imploy. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for preparing personal, corporate, partnership, and trust income tax returns, as well as working on tax planning engagements for owner-managed Canadian domestic clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for clients

• Conduct tax planning engagements for owner-managed clients

• Manage tax processes and procedures during tax season

• Draft correspondence for internal use and client engagements

• Work with accounting staff to prepare legal entity financial statements

• Identify technical issues and propose solutions

• Participate in analysis of new legislation and implement planning ideas for clients

• Prepare and present professional development seminars

• Coach and mentor staff and delegate assignments

• Actively participate in engagement phases, including budgeting and management of accounts receivables

• Solve client problems and introduce new tax planning strategies

• Management and payment of tax instalments

• Market the firm's services

• Liaise with CRA and other taxation authorities

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in tax within a public accounting firm

• Experience with owner-managed clients and mid-size companies

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English

• Ability to present information and respond to questions

• Problem-solving and research skills

• Organizational skills for prioritizing demands and meeting deadlines

• Strong commitment to quality

• Leadership role on engagements

• Solid understanding of business professionalism and team environment

• Completion of or progress towards a recognized accounting designation

• Knowledge of Jet Pack, QuickBooks, and Caseware

• Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, and Word)

Education Requirements

• University Degree in a related field
