As a Medical Care Specialist at Amazon, you will play a vital role in supporting the safety and wellbeing of our employees.
About the Role:
The Onsite Medical Representative is responsible for providing first aid support and referrals to outside medical providers as necessary. This includes minimizing the risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid support and make referrals to outside medical providers as necessary.
- Minimize the risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement.
- Maintain all records of care provided to employees.
- Coordinate and maintain the workers' compensation and return to work programs for employees with work-related injuries.
- Provide daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports.
- Engage with employees and leadership on the operations floor to provide coaching regarding observed at-risk work habits.
- Maintain a clean working environment and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained.
- Participate in training and certification to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certifications classes.
- Maintain all first aid, CPR, and AED credentials.
- Work flexible shifts which could include days, nights, holidays, and/or weekends.
- Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols.
- Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Must have successfully completed the first aid training course or a first aid examination developed or approved by WorkSafe BC;
- Must have one of the following:
- Valid Provincial Primary Care Paramedic Certification from the Ministry of Health Emergency Medical Assistants (EMA) Licensing Board;
- Current valid Emergency Medical Responder Certification from the Emergency Medical Assistants (EMA) Licensing Board;
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from the British Columbia College of Nurses and midwives (BCCNM);
- In the last year, six months job experience as a Military Medical Technician (Canadian Armed Forces).
