Job Summary

Farris LLP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Help Desk Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our employees, ensuring that our IT systems and infrastructure are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and effective technical support to employees via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Assist with the onboarding process for new employees, including setting up their computer and email accounts.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of technical issues and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff to escalate complex technical issues and implement solutions.
  • Manage and maintain our Active Directory, ensuring that user accounts and computer permissions are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Perform regular maintenance and upgrades on our IT systems, including Windows 10 Pro and Office 365.
  • Provide training and support to employees on the use of our IT systems and software.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements, and make recommendations for improvements to our IT systems.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in Information Systems, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum four years of relevant technical experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows 10 Pro, Windows 11 Pro, Office 2016, and Office 365.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2012 and 2016, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, RDP, and DHCP.
  • WSUS and Microsoft 365 Exchange online and on-prem Exchange Server.
  • Awareness of VMWare ESXi Virtualized Server Environment.
  • Basic TCP/IP networking knowledge.
  • Highly organized, with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong service orientation.
  • Fast learner, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
