Library Circulation Specialist

The Library Circulation Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of the Tyndale University Library's circulation services. This position is responsible for supervising the circulation of library materials, maintaining user accounts, recording statistics, and providing interlibrary loan services to users. The successful candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, be able to work accurately with details, and be proficient in the use of library software.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the circulation of library materials, including verifying sign-outs, organizing shelving, and updating user accounts.
- Handle user circulation requests, maintain accurate records, and send notices regarding overdue materials and fines.
- Provide interlibrary loan services to users, including searching for items, communicating with other libraries, and processing requests.
- Manage the circulation desk schedule, provide assistance to the Public Services Librarian, and supervise student library assistants.
- Participate in taking inventory of the collection, assist with library projects, and provide clerical support as needed.
- College Library and Information Technician Diploma or a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in an academic setting, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of theological/Biblical studies, interlibrary loans, and library software is an asset.
The Library Circulation Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with patrons, staff, and student workers. The position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary Range$38,000 to $47,000
