Electrical Engineer Job Description

Maritime Electric is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, constructing, and managing engineering projects to improve the reliability of our transmission and distribution system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, install, and integrate intelligent electronic devices, telecommunications systems, and SCADA infrastructure.
  • Participate in protection coordination, control, and commissioning on the transmission and distribution system.
  • Provide engineering design and construction for new substations or upgrades to existing substations.
  • Support the Technical Services maintenance team with technical asset support.
  • Coordinate and supervise projects, prepare project cost estimates, and contract preparation.
  • Participate in distribution planning and development of Maritime Electric's standards.
  • Integrate wind and solar energy into Maritime Electric's system.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Eligibility for registration with Engineers PEI.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Skills:
  • Organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in standard industry design/analysis software and CAD systems.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs, such as spreadsheets, word processors, and PowerPoint.
