Job Title: Director, Balance Sheet Management and FX Oversight

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Balance Sheet Management (BSM) and FX Oversight activities. As a Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of BSM activities and structural FX exposures and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and Maintain Frameworks: Develop and maintain frameworks, processes, and controls to oversee BSM and FX activities.
  • Independent Reviews: Perform independent reviews of BSM and FX activities, including review of exposures, strategies, transactions, and assumptions.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate with Corporate Treasury stakeholders to set risk tolerance/limits against FX risk and BSM positions.
  • Risk Identification: Identify emerging risks and engage first line to assess potential impact.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Support non-trading FX reporting enhancements and collaborate with financial performance oversight team on P&L analysis.
  • Strategic Input: Provide strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.
  • Recommendations: Make recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
  • Industry Networking: May network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.
  • Regulatory Interpretation: Interpret new regulations and assess impacts to the governance framework.
  • Reporting and Communication: Develops reports on the status of the governance program or framework components.
  • Business Influence: Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.
  • Issue Identification: Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Business Prioritization: Recommends business priorities, advises on resource requirements, and develops roadmap for strategic execution.
  • Resource Management: Manages resources and leads the execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Effectiveness Measurement: Measures the effectiveness of risk governance system and framework.
  • Strategic Analysis: Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
  • Framework Development: Leads the development and maintenance of the governance system and framework.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Representation: Represents the risk program/governance structure during internal/external regulatory audits and/or examinations.
  • Reporting and Dashboarding: Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Business Knowledge: Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of business and related risk management requirements.
  • Data Analysis: Analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitors and tracks performance; addresses any issues.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Coordinates and monitors the review and sign-off of regulatory reporting and attestations.
  • Enterprise-Wide Expertise: Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience and Education: Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Market Risk Management: In-depth/expert knowledge and understanding of market risk management practices.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth/expert knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Policy Frameworks: In-depth/expert knowledge & experience with risk policy frameworks; quality control/testing frameworks.
  • Seasoned Professional: Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge.
  • Communication Skills: Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth/Expert.
  • Analytical Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth/Expert.
  • Influence Skills: Influence skills - In-depth/Expert.
  • Collaboration Skills: Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth/Expert.
